Distribution of admission forms for Gujarat University-recognised 18 Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of
Computer Application (BCA) courses at various colleges will start from May 29. The last date of forms submission is June 3.

The Ahmedabad-based Rasna Group’s charitable arm, Areez Khambatta Benevolent Trust, has joined hands with a US university to offer post graduate courses in business administration (MBA). The trust has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the College of Business of University of North Texas to launch the Khambatta Centre of Excellence in Ahmedabad.

Students of IIT, Gandhinagar, are all set to introduce the trend of organising annual cultural festival in their campus. The pioneer batch of 90 students will start off with their first annual culfest, 'Blithcron 2009', on their temporary campus at Vishwakarma Government College in Chandkheda from Saturday.

Pushing the development
of automotive design in India, the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad is partnering with the Partners for the Advancement of Collaborative Engineering Education (PACE) to set up a centre. The purpose of the centre is to promote development of creative design and to foster automotive industry talent in India.

Keeping pace with the changing trends in apparel, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Gandhinagar, has launched a new postgraduate course, 'Masters of Fashion Technology in Apparel Production'.

"The new two-year postgraduate programme with 30 seats will begin from this academic session in August," NIFT Director Nitesh Vyas said.

Looking for an institute for CAT preparation or having doubts regarding new on-line pattern of CAT 09 exam? A team of three students at Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) has launched a website for CAT aspirants recently. They have been assured by students of IIM-Ahmedabad to provide all assistance required for the website.

The students claimed that the website would help CAT aspirants getting accustomed to the new on-line exam pattern that was announced by IIM's last year.

Assessment of English medium answer sheets has been a major concern for years and English medium teachers have been blamed of shirking their duty.

Finally acknowledging the problem, Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) on Tuesday had called for a meeting of all English medium school principals from across the state at Gandhinagar.

No less than 500 principals of various English medium schools have promised to send their teachers for assessment of
answer sheets after exams.

A code of ethics document in B-schools would serve as a starting point in orienting students to ethical behaviour, which they could demonstrate in organizations that they join.

One important aspect of such a code should be the expectations of conduct from the director and faculty members who are supposed to be the role models for the students.
