Ahmedabad has joined the bandwagon of celebrating ‘Earth Hour’- a movement which began in Sydney in 2007.Earth Hour is a worldwide event organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and held towards the end of March annually, encouraging households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change.

‘Dreams’a city based NGO had organised earth hour concert at Vastrapur Amphitheatre on March 23, 2013. Mayank Bapna, director of Dreams, Guruprasad Mohapatra (city municipal commissioner) Bhupendra Patel (city municipal corporation’s standing committee chairman). The event was supported by TATA MOTORS and students of various colleges of Ahmedabad.
