Hi friends,
Today's youth (thats us) is supposed to shape tomorrow's world... Personally I feel that we don't need to wait for tomorrow...

On one hand our elders want us to take the nation ahead on the other hand they are always doubtful of our ways and try to inhibit us... what then should we do to take charge and make it clear to the generation before us that there is more to us than designer clothes and late night parties?

Where according to you do we the youth of India stand?

think about it and give your opinion... try not to be very stereotypical about it... just say whats on ur mind...

THE YOUTH OF TODAY!

Excellent Topic Riddhi!! wanted to talk about this so long. We the Youth of Today....

If you say elders want us to take the nation ahead,, in reply we would say we had taken nation ahead.....May be not as per thier expectation by doing Gandhigiri...........as some othe elders would advocate that.......

Todays youth is much more educated and really alert about their careers rather than just dance parties.

and not just that.............they are awake of social cause also...the institutions like YUVA unstoppable contributing a lot to the society and making a difference in the lives of the people..................

As i am the part of Youth of today, i am very optimistic and very much sure that future of country (as the elders would say) is in safe hands of us........

Cheers for the Youth of India

THE YOUTH OF TODAY!

hum aag lagaade paani mein... paththar pe phool khilayein...
Bin mausam, bin baadal rimzim saavan barsaayein...

India is a great country, and Hinduism is not a religion, but a way of life. At one had the belief in the God, the belief in the culture, the belief in the values that we inherit from our forefathers keep us away from moving to the negative side of the society.... on the other hand increasing touch with the rest of the world, motivates us to take our nation ahead of them all...

It is this mixture of inherited values and the passion to take the nation ahead, makes the Indian Youth the strongest in the world.

In the developed countries, it is fourth or fifth generation who is enjoying the fruits of strong economy, empowered by their forefathers. To avail the riches of life, they dont have to struggle more. And a major part of the youth is in very comfortable zone. While in India, the average person has to strive really hard for better lifestyle. There is a big number of people, for whom even survival is a critical issue.

But India is in transition. And friends we are lucky that we not only witness the transition phase of India, but be the elements of the giant youth-force making this transition possible...

We have enormous powers within us... we have to realize...
we have to retain the values and re-write the rules...
We have to free our minds...

"Great things can be done only through great sacrifices. No selfishness, no name, no fame, yours or mine, nor my Master's even! Work, work the idea, the plan, my boys, my brave, noble, good souls--to the wheel, to the wheel put your shoulders! Stop not to look back for name, or fame, or any such nonsense. Throw self overboard and work. Remember "The grass when made into a rope by being joined together can even chain a mad elephant." The Lord's blessings on you all! His power be in you all--as I believe it is already." - Swami Vivekanand

Well I agree that one of the main attributes in favor of the Indian youth is their struggle to move ahead and passion to succeed... We have to prove our mettle not only to our elders but to the world as whole... and I should say that we have managed to move ahead quite well... but what are we striving to get from all the success? What after we get the fruits of our labor? Will it mean that the coming generations, like the rest of the world youth will live in comfort, away from struggles and be lost in their own worlds without caring about anyone? Isn't that just what our elders are afraid of?

With increasing globalization, westernization in pretense of modernization, youngsters moving towards drugs, indulging in crime for fast money and fame and much of Indian youth mocking the traditions and beliefs of our past, don't you think the fears of our elders are justified?

How then do we convince them that inspite of all the success and globalisation, we will still be rooted to our culture and heritage and make sure that the Indian way of life doesn't disappear like the rest of the civilizations?... I think once we are able to promise this to our elders, they would be at peace with us as well as themselves...

THE YOUTH OF TODAY!

Responsibility.......

I think this is the word for GenX.

We seems privileged, so we can talk about social problems but we are not practically part of that.

Education is not that they look as solution, but they need food for today and they don't understand that Education can not give them food today but tomorrow.

So we are lucky here, setting our bread and butter for tomorrow and all is not because of us only......
Society gave us this opportunities, society gave us these position and as a RESPONSIBLE citizen , it's our turn to pay something back to society.

Whatever we are getting and going to top positions, but we are again going to the path of Equity Unbalance and believe me guys, this is the biggest problem of world.......and only one guy gave solution to this ......he was great great greatest Mahatma Gandhi.

Whenever communism is being heavy, Capitalism is fighting from other ends and if Capitalism is ruling ......leftiesssss are again on field, and we are seeing these results live. Only that Mahatma has third solution which was far far from the Vision of these two fundamentals.

That was his Gandhigiri and that gave thousand of solutions which people were always finding crazy but That MAN stood alone and succeed.

At the time of Partition, Punjab was burning and at the same time same was about to happen at Bengal or say Calcutta but that was a CHAMATKAR and that is because of One Mahatma.

so I am not moving from the subject, but I am just putting a point that Gandhi was never wrong, we interpreted him wrong way.......and today what we see is most of the youth is like Godse fan club.

It's time to be responsible, not only for family , but for Society.
Equity Unbalance is being the biggest problem ever and we have to work for that.

TEMNE ROTLI NAA AAPO, TEMNE ROTLI KAMATA SHIKHVO ...that's what he said and I think the most magical statement which doesn't seems that practical but INDIPENDENSE OF INDIA was also a dream but we are seeing the result as the largest democracy which is still able to survive.

so now our duties Be responsible to society, Development of a system to find cause of Equity Unbalance and fill that gap. Let the Truth and Honesty rule and the results will show.

And Salute to that Mahatma, and salute to Todays young generation who still have dreams of betterment of our Motherland and they are on the path of fulfillment of that dream. Dream of a Bapu, dream of millions of people, Our own dream.

THE YOUTH OF TODAY!

Hi Pankaj,

I agree with Paras here... I didn't start this thread for justifying or criticising anyone... I agree we need to be more responsible and that we only talk about the causes and never actually involve ourselves... but there are many who do involve their whole lives for important causes... and there are many who are striving to strike a balance...this thread was started with an intention to bring such youngsters to limelight and to commend their work... you talk about capitalism and communism... but do you actually feel that this can make a difference... i say forget economy, forget all the material happiness... what actually makes difference is the mindset...the mindset of people has to change in order to achieve success...the question- What needs to be changed and how can we change the mindset of the people?

The Youth of Today is more

The Youth of Today is more concerned for their own life and career.
Thats the general view of the society.

But hey thats not the truth. Its true that our generation has become more attractive towards material things but that does not mean that we are bad. Infact today's Indian youth is considered as the main asset of the country.

I consider A r Rahman as young Indian who got us the glorious Oscar Award. This is just an example.

We Rock !
