Reliance Petroleum (RPL) has announced that the company will call a meeting of the equity shareholders, secured creditors (class 1) (class 2) and unsecured creditors for the purpose considering and approving with or without modification(s) the Scheme of Amalgamation of Reliance Petroleum with Reliance Industries (RIL) of the company as per the order made on March 05, 2009 by High Court of Gujarat at Ahmedabad.

The US-based Carlson Group, in collaboration with Rising Hotels and Country Development & Management Services (CDMS), today launched a three-star business hotel, Country Inn & Suites, in Ahmedabad. The Carlson Group-managed 68-room hotel has been set up with an investment of Rs 25 crore.

In an effort to woo women voters, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate LK Advani on Tuesday vowed that if voted to power his government will give Rs.100,000 to every girl in the country by the time she is 18 year old.

"It is my promise that, if elected to form the next government, it will be our endeavor to make every girl in India a 'lakhpati' by the time she attains maturity. We will introduce a Ladli Laxmi Yojana in every state to support the girl child," the 81-year-old BJP leader wrote on his blog.
